How I work

AI does the legwork.
I hold the gates.

I use AI agents to investigate, draft and test, so tasks finish sooner. A person still approves every step that matters. Nothing reaches your store without my review and your sign-off.

  1. You

    Brief

You describe the bug or feature in plain words, by phone, Slack or email.

  2. AI

    Investigate

Agents read the code, logs and config, then reproduce the problem.

  3. Gate 1 · Me

    Confirm the cause

I check the diagnosis and agree the plan before any code is written.

  4. AI

    Build & test

Agents draft the change, then run coding standards, static analysis and browser tests in Docker Chrome.

  5. Gate 2 · Me

    Line-by-line review

I read every changed line and send back anything that isn't up to standard.

  6. Gate 3 · You

    Approve on staging

You try it on staging. It goes live only when you say so.

  • Human quality gate

Why work with me directly

One senior engineer.
No layers.

Typical agency

  • Higher rates to cover sales, account managers and office overhead.
  • Junior developers often learn on your live store.
  • Tickets pass through several people before reaching an engineer.
  • Multi-month minimums and change-request fees.

Working with me

  • You pay for engineering hours and nothing else.
  • 15 years of PHP, from Magento 1 Enterprise to Adobe Commerce Cloud, headless and Laravel. Now Go too.
  • Talk to the developer by phone, Slack or email.
  • Month-to-month retainers, ad-hoc fixes or fixed-scope projects.

Still prefer an agency?

I'll help you
pick the right one.

Some projects need a full team: design, strategy, a re-platform. I've spent 15 years inside and alongside UK eCommerce agencies, so I know what a good one looks like, and what a weak proposal hides. I'll act as your independent technical consultant and connect you with an agency that fits.

  1. 01

    Shape the brief

We turn your goals into a clear brief and requirements, so every agency quotes for the same thing.

  2. 02

    Shortlist

I introduce agencies that suit your platform, budget and size, whether that's Magento, Shopify, Laravel or something else.

  3. 03

    Vet the proposals

I review estimates, architecture and team plans, and flag the risks before you sign.

  4. 04

    Stay on your side

Once work starts, I can review code and releases and keep the project honest.

About

Hi, I'm Jitheesh.

I've worked on Magento every day since 2011. I started at Luminescent Digital, on the offshore team for UK agency Envoy Digital. There I built Magento Enterprise stores such as 31DOVER, Choice and Voga, which ran 20 countries from one codebase.

Since 2018 I've led Magento engineering at Digital Boutique in the UK, and I've been Head of Magento Backend since 2023. I'm based in Chesterfield, England, and work UK, European and US hours.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does the first free task work?

You send a small task or bug that takes up to two hours. I do it on your staging site. If you're happy with the speed, communication and code, we discuss paid hours. If not, you keep the fix at no cost.

How do you handle access to my store?

I never test on live production. You give me restricted staging access through SSH, Git or the Magento admin. Code reaches production only after you've reviewed and approved it.

Do you use AI on my code?

Yes, to work faster. AI agents investigate, draft changes and run tests. I review every line before you see it, and nothing ships until you approve it on staging. AI tools never get production access.

What hours do you work?

I'm based in the UK and cover UK, European and US overlapping hours. If your store is down, I respond within two hours.

Do I need a long-term contract?

No. Retainers run month to month and you can pause or scale them at any time.

Do you only work on Magento?

No. Magento is where I've spent the most time, but I also take on Laravel, WordPress and WooCommerce, Shopify stores and apps, and Go services and APIs.

I'd rather hire an agency. Can you still help?

Yes. I'll help you write the brief, introduce agencies that fit your platform and budget, review their proposals, and keep a technical eye on the work once it starts.

Do you work on Hyvä, headless or Adobe Commerce Cloud?

Yes, all three. Stoneridge Optac runs on Hyvä. Leicester City FC and Goodfellow Reference Materials are headless. Goodfellow and Trade Radiators run on Adobe Commerce Cloud.
