Magento & Adobe Commerce security patches

Security patches, applied properly.

Adobe ships security updates for Magento and Adobe Commerce regularly, and unpatched stores are a favourite target. I apply the patch or security release, check it against your extensions and custom code on staging, and release it when you're ready.

What's included

What I'll do for you.

Patch review

Which Adobe security bulletins apply to your version, and whether a patch, hotfix or security release is the right route.

Safe application

Patches applied through Composer or the quality patches tool, so they're tracked in code rather than hand-edited.

Conflict checks

Extensions and custom modules tested against the patched core, with fixes where a patch changes behaviour.

Staging first

Checkout, admin, payments and integrations tested on staging before production.

Urgent fixes

When a critical vulnerability is being exploited, I prioritise getting you patched fast.

Ongoing schedule

On a retainer, patches go on as they're released, so you never fall far behind.

How it works

Safe by default.

AI agents help me investigate, draft and test faster. A person still approves every step that matters.

  1. 01

    Tell me the problem

Describe it in plain words by phone, Slack or email, and share staging or log access.

  2. 02

    Diagnose and agree

I find the cause and agree the plan and estimate with you before any code is written.

  3. 03

    Fix and review

The change is built and tested, then I review every line before you see it.

  4. 04

    You approve on staging

You try it on staging. It goes live only when you say so.

Experience

From projects I've led and worked on.

  • Patching and version upgrades on Adobe Commerce Cloud stores such as Trade Radiators and Goodfellow.
  • Magento stores with large catalogues and many custom modules, such as ETB Technologies, kept current through releases.
  • Every change goes through staging and your approval. AI tools never get production access.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How quickly can you apply a Magento security patch?

Usually within your next working window once I have staging access. If a vulnerability is being actively exploited, I treat it as urgent and respond within two hours.

What's the difference between a patch and an upgrade?

A security patch fixes specific vulnerabilities in your current version. An upgrade moves you to a newer release, which includes those fixes and other changes. If your version is near end of support, I'll tell you when upgrading is the better option.

Can a security patch break my store?

It can, if an extension or custom module relies on the code the patch changes. That's why I test on staging first and fix any conflicts before release.

Do you apply patches on a schedule?

Yes. On a monthly retainer I watch for new security releases and apply them as part of routine maintenance.
